Frequently Asked Questions
Does ComplyHub replace my AML consultant?
No — ComplyHub runs Part B operational execution. Your AML consultant defines the Part A program thresholds. The two work together. ComplyHub flags candidates, drafts the SMR, and locks every decision into the audit log. The consultant defines what reasonable suspicion looks like.
Does ComplyHub file SMRs to AUSTRAC?
No — ComplyHub drafts the SMR and pre-fills approximately 70% of the form from data it already holds. The firm’s AML compliance officer reviews, finalises, and submits via AUSTRAC Online. This boundary is deliberate — filing is a statutory obligation of the reporting entity, not the vendor.
Where is my data stored?
All ComplyHub-owned data lives on AWS Sydney ap-southeast-2. Biometric data is processed by Stripe and never stored on ComplyHub servers — we hold only the verification result and reference ID. 7-year retention on an append-only hash-chained audit log.
What happens when a client triggers EDD?
The system automatically pauses the engagement, requests additional documents including source of wealth declaration and UBO tracing, notifies the firm partner via Slack and email, and logs every decision with full rationale. The firm’s compliance officer makes the final call — ComplyHub makes sure that call is documented.
Is ComplyHub suitable if my firm fails the AUSTRAC Starter Kit suitability criteria?
Yes — ComplyHub is specifically designed for firms with 1–2 suitability fails. The platform extends the Starter Kit framework with the operational controls needed to fill those gaps, producing a stronger audit posture than either DIY or bespoke alternatives.
When will ComplyHub be ready?
Phase 1 including onboarding, IDV, screening, risk scoring, EDD routing, and audit trail is live in pilot. MVP ready 10 May 2026. Phase 2 SMR drafting assistant follows pilot validation.
